Acceptance

By installing or using the Ntercept extension, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of them, do not install or use the extension.

1. What Ntercept is for

Ntercept is a general-purpose browser extension for capturing and analyzing HTTP traffic, distributed for free. It is built and maintained for legitimate uses such as debugging your own applications, understanding how a site or API you have access to behaves, and security testing you are authorized to perform.

It has no built-in restriction to a single use case, and the project does not vet who installs it or what they inspect with it.

2. Your responsibility

You are solely responsible for how you use Ntercept, and in particular for:

• Having the right to inspect the traffic you capture. Capturing, replaying, or exporting traffic from a system you do not own or do not have explicit authorization to test may violate the law (including computer-crime and unauthorized-access statutes) or the terms of service of the site or application involved, regardless of what this tool makes technically possible.
• What you do with exported data. Captured sessions can contain credentials, tokens, and personal data — see the Privacy Policy. Once exported, safeguarding, sharing, or discarding that file is entirely up to you.
• The effects of Replay. Replay sends a real HTTP request to whatever destination you point it at, using your own browser session. You are responsible for the consequences of any request you choose to resend, including state-changing ones.

The authors accept no responsibility for misuse of this tool, and reserve the right to note in the project's documentation or issue tracker that a particular use case is out of scope, without that constituting a change to these Terms.

3. No warranty, no support obligation

Ntercept is a free, independent project, provided "as is" and "as available", without express or implied warranties as to its operation, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or freedom from errors.

There is no service-level agreement (SLA), and no obligation of maintenance, updates, bug fixes, technical support, or compatibility with future versions of browsers, systems, or third-party services.

Any updates, fixes, improvements, or responses to requests may be carried out at the maintainers' discretion and subject to availability, with no commitment of continuity or fixed timeline.

4. Local operation, no liability for third-party destinations

Ntercept has no backend and does not transmit captured data anywhere on its own — see the Privacy Policy for the full data-handling picture. The only network requests the extension originates are Replay requests, sent at your explicit instruction to a destination you chose. The authors are not a party to, and accept no liability for, whatever that destination does with a request you decide to send it.

5. Changes to these terms

These Terms are versioned with the code. Material changes will be noted in the release notes, and the last-updated date at the top of this page changes with it. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.

6. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. The courts of the district of Rio de Janeiro – RJ are elected to settle any disputes arising from them, with express waiver of any other, however privileged.
